Philosophy
The philosophy of Port Catholic's athletic program is to provide athletic opportunities in a competitive situation for each participant. The intent is to help every student athlete in the program learn the fundamentals of sports, develop athletic skills and positive self-esteem, and to encourage leadership, teamwork, discipline, mental and physical well-being, and moral and physical courage. In addition, we teach and acknowledge that hard work and perseverance can many times overcome natural ability. Our team approach is the collaboration of coaches, parents, teachers, and students resulting in a very effective program.
Port Catholic offers volleyball and basketball to 5th - 8th grade boys and girls. Our teams are typically coached by parent volunteers who are the key to our success. Admissions, concessions, the athletic committee, the athletic banquet, and the Phoenix Shootout Touraments are also parent-run functions.
The Port Catholic Athletic Committee governs and administers the athletics program at Port Catholic. The program is subject to the rules and regulations directed by the Archdiocese of Milwaukee and the WOCC (Washington Ozaukee Catholic Conference). The WOCC website is www.woccsports.org. All league schedules and standings are posted at this site.
We are proud of the achievements of the current and former Port Cathlic athletes, both in the classroom and on the court.
If you have any questions or suggestions please contact a member of the Port Catholic Athletic Committee.
